Token Launches Lower-Cost Premium Guitar Picks at IBMA World of Bluegrass
New collection offers surprising new material and the benefits of automated manufacturing
Petaluma, Calif., Sept. 16, 2025 — Token, a new force in premium guitar pick making, today announced the official launch of its product line at IBMA World of Bluegrass in Chattanooga, Tenn. The company’s debut will take place at the opening of the exhibit hall on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Booth 413, where its picks will be available for purchase. Online pre-sales are open immediately at www.tokenmade.com.
Token picks have already been adopted by numerous touring artists and have appeared on such iconic stages as the Ryman Auditorium, RockyGrass, and the Targhee Bluegrass Festival. Artists including Andy Falco of the Infamous Stringdusters; Scott Gates and Sullivan Tuttle of AJ Lee & Blue Summit; and Jon Stickley of the Jon Stickley Trio have embraced the rich tone, precise feel, and durability of Token picks.
“Token picks elevate my playing, and I love their tone,” said Andy Falco of the Infamous Stringdusters. “I love the feel of the material. It’s not super glossy; it doesn’t slip out of your hands; yet it feels very smooth on the strings.”
“Key to the feel of a Token pick is the micron-level precision we achieve with our automated manufacturing process,” said Daniel Flanigan, founder and CEO of Token. “Our innovations in manufacturing have also allowed us to make picks 20 to 50 percent less costly than other premium picks on the market, at volumes that make them widely accessible.”
A surprise Token will reveal at IBMA is its Green “No. 3” material, a unique formulation lauded for its ability to draw volume and tone from guitars and mandolins. “Token picks are pulling tone out of my mandolin that other picks have not,” said Shawn Swain of Kitchen Dwellers. “I recommend them to any bluegrass or Americana-style player.”
Token is launching with 12 pick varieties—three materials, three shapes, and three thicknesses—and plans to steadily expand its offerings in response to player demand.
