Ultem is the brand name for polyetherimide (PEI), a high-performance thermoplastic. It has been used in the pick industry for decades because of its bright, articulate tone, solid attack, low friction, and excellent durability. Token's Amber picks are CNC-machined from virgin PEI rod stock.

Amber Ultem is Token's brightest material. It produces clear, articulate tone with solid attack and strong note separation. Tan PEEK is warmer and more balanced. Green Torlon is the loudest and richest. Think of them like EQ knobs: Amber for treble, Tan for mids, Green for full-spectrum volume.

Token Amber picks use the same base polymer (PEI) as other Ultem picks, but they are manufactured differently. Token is the only company that fully CNC-machines every pick with proprietary cutting tools, delivering mathematically precise bevel geometries that injection-molded or hand-beveled picks cannot match.

Amber Ultem is available across all four Token shapes: the A1 series (Large Triangle), B1 series (Small Triangle), C1-60 (Two-Round), and D1-60 (All-Round). Large and Small Triangles come in multiple thicknesses from 1.14mm to 1.52mm. The Two-Round and All-Round are available in 1.52mm.
